We hired a car to visit the Great Ocean Road and to drive all the way up to Adelaide. 3 days and about 1700 km. (Although the Great Ocean Road is only 200 km)

At the beginning there were little villages near the coast, great beaches and landscape with a quite good road. Fortunately, there were not so many tourists and we had the chance to made some stops quite spontaneously. We often stopped at lookouts to take some fantastic pictures and we had some good walks thru forest or sand.

We decided to visit the rain forest again and again it was raining while we were there. We also visited the Otway flyway which is a boardwalk made from steel BUT it is about 50 metres in the height. This is so high as the trees in the rain forest and it is a quite interesting look from there down to the bottom!

After that “the real” Great Ocean Road started with the 12 Apostels which are only 10 because two already broke. And we saw the London Bridge and the Grotto and the Bay of Islands and all the important spots you have to see. It was a fantastic day with a lot of sun and a lot of beach. We enjoyed it to sit on the beach and were listening to the ocean again. We loved it there!

After these amazing stones (did I mentioned this great sunset?) we head off to Mount Gambier which is a quite nice town. I was sad, that we hadn’t enough time there. This is beautiful town. But we visited the blue lake (at least) and we had an internet session at McDonalds. Australia is cool! We were sitting with our burgers and a laptop and were checking emails. So cool :)

But we had to hurry up to reach Adelaide on Friday, 3rd February to pick up Jana from the airport.
